This year, our #GivingTuesday drive is highlighting The Literacy Project, which helps children with disabilities in Chicago achieve literacy. Students with disabilities in Chicago read two times worse than the national average. Eighty-seven percent of students with disabilities in Chicago Public Schools are low-income and often can't afford the legal representation they need to get appropriate services at school. The Literacy Project was created to give Chicago Public School students the resources they need to get back on track and succeed in school. In its first 11 months, the Literacy Project was able to represent 57 students with disabilities. This is just a drop in the bucket. There are many more kids who need our services. We need your help to keep this project and others like it open so all people with disabilities have a place to get the support they need to fully participate in community life. We have two generous board members who have joined together to match contributions to Giving Tuesday up to our goal of $12,000. Help us reach our goal and double our efforts by donating today.
